St. Agatha’s Catholic Primary school is a two form entry Catholic day school, with a Nursery, providing outstanding education to approximately 500 children. We cater mainly, but not exclusively, for Catholic families and their children from the age of three to eleven.
St Agatha's Catholic Primary school became an Academy in February 2012. The school originally opened in 1895 in a small building which still stands next to St. Agatha’s Church. In 1976 the school moved to the current site.
At St. Agatha’s we recognise that your child is uniquely gifted by God and has special gifts and needs. We try to support those needs by emphasising the partnership between home, school and church.
St. Agatha’s is a happy school with a very strong Christian ethos. We believe that our children should be encouraged as learners and to always do their best in every aspect of school life; that they become independent and self-confident as learners and they are encouraged to develop a set of core moral values, based upon the teachings of Jesus. We also believe that these core moral values will help children develop as young people in their secondary schools and prepare the, for the contributions that they will make in their work place and their communities during their adult lives.
